Autumn Turkey Chili or Meat Substitute

1 lb ground turkey or meat substitute

1 red onion roughly chopped (set aside ½)

1 teaspoon garlic finely chopped

2 tablespoons chili powder

½ teaspoon Sandra’s Spice

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cumin

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

½ teaspoon oregano

1 28oz can organic crushed tomato

1 15oz can organic black beans (well rinsed)

1 15oz can organic garbanzo beans (well rinsed)

¼ cup sun dried tomato

¼ cup parsley finely chopped (garnish)

In a large bowl add turkey, garlic, chili powder, Sandra’s Spice, paprika, cumin, black pepper, oregano, onion and massage into turkey.

In a sauté pan over medium heat, lightly coat with grape seed oil. Add turkey mixture, brown lightly on both sides and break up. Add crushed tomato, black beans, garbanzo beans, sun dried tomato, stir and covered for 20-30 minutes over medium low heat.

When ready to serve add remainder of red onion and parsley.
